I have recently made the horrible mistake of reading a bunch of running blogs.  Most running blogs are awful.  The lack of self-awareness that most runners possess is astounding.  I understand that the average marathon participator wants to share his/her story of achievement, but honestly, finishing a race or several races is not impressive.  At the elite level, the amount of awkward pretension and inability to spit out a relevant or interesting paragraph baffles me as well.  I'm not sure of a solution, but, I feel as a runner who skidded through a lot of writing and literature classes, I could react. I could do something involving arranging letters and words and punctuation into something worthy of being read by anyone interested in the sport of running.  It is a weird-ass sport full of weird-ass people.  I am proudly one of those weird-asses, but I have grown weary of reading about how fun that Color Run was last week, and very tired of how big of a deal it was that Competitor dropped elite funding (it wasn't that big of a deal). I hope to not alienate my peers, but your blog is probably terrible.  My goals are nebulous, ill-conceived, fueled by insecurity, but hopefully honest.
